Why Transcendental Meditation?

Why should anyone meditate, or better yet, meditate to enter into transcendental states of consciousness? It is a good question, and if you are reading this, you are considering doing just that. Let me try to convince you why transcendental meditation is not only a good thing for your overall health and wellbeing, but a fantastic start to a spiritual awakening that will transform you in ways you cannot even imagine today.
In our modern world, our attention is pulled in a hundred different directions. Our minds are inundated by thousands of images, words, and sounds from so many sources, it is difficult to imagine anyone can keep it all together. Chronic stress has become the norm in our society, and it often leads to chronic illness and mental afflictions such as depression and anxiety. I would know. I have suffered from Bipolar Depression for most of my adult life, something that affects my life, my relationships, and my work.
Poor health and mental fatigue have become so common, our airwaves are flooded with commercials touting the latest and greatest medications to treat whatever ails you. It isn't that these medicines are bad for us, we simply shouldn't need most of them in our lives. So how do we stop this roller coaster world to take a break and heal ourselves?
You could take a vacation, but that often adds even more stress through the expense and management of all the various pieces to make it happen. Go camping? Sure, my family and I have done this for a long time, and it is wonderful. But after a few days to a few weeks, we are back in the stress, longing for that relief we experienced for such a short period of time.
Doctors tell us that fitness and a healthy diet are the answers, but they only solve part of the problems while our stress continues to consume us. Enter meditation. Transcendental Meditation hails from the shores of India where ancient documents known as the Vedas outline the mechanics for living a happy, healthy life. These instructions are known as yoga, and for most, they are familiar with the physical side of that. But what about the meditation side of it?
Through physical yoga, we tune up and keep our body healthy, which does lead to a healthier mind. But what tunes up our etheric body and keeps our energy healthy leading to happiness and a healthier mind? That would be Transcendental Meditation. Meditation in general is the quieting of the mind, transcending the normal waking state, entering into more relaxed states similar to sleep. It is a daily vacation from your stress, and when done properly, leads to even better sleep than you ever had before.
All of us are energy in a dense state. If you removed all the space between our atomic structures within our bodies, you could fit all of humanity into a sugar cube. This is not hyperbole but actual physics. This very fact should tell you a lot about your reality. First, if we are energy, then energy into and out of us must be a critical factor in our existence and must play a role in our health and vitality. This is true, and Kriya Serpent Yoga meditation uses this fact to energize your etheric (energetic) system, tuning it up for optimal health and vitality. The effects on mental health are remarkable, but there are physical benefits too.
After beginning my meditation practice, I took my blood pressure from pre-hypertension to normal in less than a year. My mind was clearer, my thoughts more tranquil, and my overall disposition happier. Adding the energetic component into that meditation, and I gained control over my anxiety, and lessened the severity of my bipolar depression, eliminating the powerful drugs I had used to control them. Over time, the transcendental states of consciousness began to lessen the hold bad habits had on me, and I gave up drinking and smoking. I didn't give them up because I had to, I simply didn't want them anymore.

Meditation has been used for thousands of years to help people live a mindful, peaceful, and happier life. Its benefits to your health and wellness are well documented by scientific sources over the last hundred years, and there is a push to integrate it into stressful jobs and environments, to alleviate the stress those place on people. However, there is another side to the meditation story, and its benefits are even more amazing.
Transcendental states of consciousness will connect us over time with higher vibrational consciousness we are all a part of. Some call this Source, God, The Divine, or the Higher Self. I call it God, and it lives within all of us. Connecting to this Divine consciousness raises our own Divine vibrational state and provides us access to Divine wisdom we can use in our daily lives. For me, and many others, they learn about their Divine purpose for being here in this lifetime. It is both a profound and wonderful thing to experience, and once you do, you can never go back to who you were before.
For Kriya Serpent Yoga, this is our Divine mission, to awaken people to their Divine purpose, setting them on a healthier path to complete their purpose in this lifetime. It transforms ordinary people into extraordinary humans. This transformation is profound, and through our practice, it can be achieved within years as opposed to a lifetime of devotion within a monastery or ashram. It is an expedient means to raising your Kundalini energy, entering transcendent states of consciousness, finding the Divine within to learn your purpose.
So, why do you need transcendental meditation? Well, to increase your health and wellness, and to connect you with the Divine within each of us. Once you make that connection, you will eliminate fear, laugh at life's stresses, and experience the world in an amazing and beautiful way.
If you haven't already, take our Intro to Kriya Serpent to learn more about our yoga and start your spiritual path today. If not, try our Quiet Mind Meditation, to harness the power of Zen to find the stillness within, brushing away the racing and stressful thoughts of our busy lives. Either way, you will be taking a step forward to your own health and wellness. I think that is worth an hour of your time!
